Off-ice is here!
Off-ice training will include the practices of ballet, Yoga and Pilates, to build musicality, strength, control and flexibility, as well as poise and performance skills. Skaters will work barefoot (or in tights!), so bring a yoga mat, and wear non-restricting (but warm!) clothing.
Future months may include additional specific equipment such as therabands, jump ropes etc, and will be announced monthly!
March dates include - 11:30a-12:30p, March 8, 22, 29! Meet by locker room 3 in the Phantoms Rink. Classes are $10 weekly, or $25 if you pay for all three classes in March up front. You do not need to sign up in advance. If you would like to let us know if you are coming for a headcount, you may email Lisa at email@example.com. You will pay Lisa directly, NOT the front desk. This is open to any level of skater. Classes will be geared toward the abilities of each skater. The first week you take class, you will need to fill out waivers. Make sure to do so before class or they won't be able to stay for class. I will have copies in my office if you are dropping off skaters early. You will only need to do this once!
The Skating Club of Ice Land is a
501(c)3 not for profit organization that inspires and motivates a positive atmosphere and attitude in all regards of a skater’s life – both on and off the ice. SCIL, an affiliated club of USFS, is built on positivity, team building, family and friendships that will last a lifetime.
The Skating Club of Ice Land (SCIL) is the US Figure Skating home club at Ice Land! In 2018, with new owners and complete renovations of the rink, it was time for a fresh start and the Skating Club of Ice Land was born! SCIL is accepting full/associate/Learn-to-Skate members, Board Members, coaches, volunteers and skating enthusiasts! Our skaters participate in competitions, shows and test sessions. We hold an annual banquet, Spring + Winter shows, themed public skates, test sessions, trips and more! SCIL has many events throughout the year and many chances for the skaters and their families to volunteer within the community. Our hope is that our members grow not only as skaters but in every aspect of their own lives by volunteering and working as a team!
SCIL is also recruiting members for our elite group - the Junior Leaders! Junior Leaders must be 10+, enthusiastic, fun and ready to lend their helping hands! The Junior Leaders help the club prep for events, run their own events, fundraise, volunteer in the community, attend a monthly Junior Leaders meeting, assist coaches during Learn-to-Skate, make new friendships and most importantly - HAVE FUN! Don't worry if your little ones are under 10 and they still want to be part of the action! The Mini Junior Leaders (under 9, with parental supervision) will assist our Junior Leaders in events throughout the year! Everyone is included and encouraged to participate!
Welcome to the Skating Club of Ice Land!
All the way from the tiny country of Iceland, Blade and Toe Pick arrived safely at Ice Land Skating Center to become our mascots! It is safe to say that Blade and Toe Pick have skated into all of our hearts and we cannot wait to be part of their many adventures to come!
