Learn to Skate at Ice Land

For the past 17 years the dedicated staff at Ice Land has been teaching skating to all ages. Learning to skate is similar to learning to ride a bicycle, once you've mastered the basics, you can pick it up at any time. That's why we have entire families participating. We offer programs for any age and experience level. Begin the journey by joining our Learn to Skate Program, with days and times to fit anyone's busy schedule. Our helpful instructors can teach you the basic moves in no time at all. As you progress up the levels within Learn to Skate, each session offers a new challenge to excite and motivate you.  If your child is the one who is participating, you can watch all the fun while sitting comfortably in our lounge overlooking the rinks.

Available Sessions:

Beginners through Advanced Skaters of all ages may participate in these Sessions. Class instruction is given by one of our Teaching Professionals and is limited to no more than 15 skaters.

BASIC 1&2 and TOTS Experience: Never skated before or no previous instruction. Forward balance on each foot Proper way to fall Proper way to get up Snowplow stops Backward wiggles		BASIC 3 Must have successfully completed BASIC 1&2 Backward skating Forward turns Proper use of blade while skating forward One foot Snowplow stops Two foot spin (two revolutions) Backward one foot glide
BASIC 4 Must have successfully completed BASIC 3 Forward outside edges Forward inside edges Forward crossovers both directions Forward outside three turn Backward snowplow stop		BASIC 5 Must have successfully completed BASIC 4 Backward outside edges R&L Backward inside edges R&L Backward crossovers both directions One foot spin (three revolutions) Side toe hop
