Skating FAQs
Lessons
1.
What’s the difference between our Learn to Skate Program and
Private Lessons?
Our Learn to Skate Program provides one instructor for 5-15 students.
The lessons are once a week for 5 or 6 weeks with an evaluation at the
end of the session. The instruction
is 30 minutes with 90 minutes of practice.
The only additional charge would be $2.50 per week for skate rental.
Private lessons are on a one to one basis. Semi-private lessons are offered as well for siblings or friends. Lessons usually last 15-30 minutes. Students pay the rink for the ice time and the instructor for the lesson separately. Skate rental (if needed) is separate as well. Lesson rates range from $25-$42 per half hour. Lessons are paid for each time and you can schedule as few or as many as you would like. Private lessons should be set up through our Skating Director, Ashley Munafo.
2.
What determines the private instructors’ rates?
Rates are based on experience.
You may request an instructor that your child has met through our Learn
to Skate Program or Ashley can help you determine who would suit your child best.
3.
When can private lessons be given?
Private lessons can be given during public sessions, (inside the center coned
off area) or figure
skating freestyle time. Your coach
will speak with you to determine a schedule that works best for you.
